Caribbean got its name after the Caribs ,who was one of the dominant Amerindian groups in the region at the time of European contact during the late 15th century. The climate of the Caribbean region depends a great deal upon location in proximity to the trade winds from the Atlantic.
- Curaçao: Curaçao boasts a blend of flavors and techniques best compared to Caribbean cuisine and Latin American cuisine. The local food of Curaçao is called Krioyo. Local bread rolls are made according to a Portuguese recipe.
- Jamaica: The island of Jamaica is home to the Blue Mountains inland and is surrounded by a narrow coastal plain.Chief towns include the capital city Kingston, Portmore, Spanish Town, Mandeville, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio, and the city of Montego Bay. It is the third largest island in the Caribbean, and the most populous English speaking island.Most major towns and both cities are located on the coast.
- Aruba: It enjoys one of the highest standards of living in the Caribbean region. Aruba is a 32 km-long island of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Alto Vista Chapel Arikok National Park Ayo and Casibari Rock Formations Bushiribana and Balashi California Lighthouse Frenchman's Pass are some of the attractions of this island.
- Barbados: Barbados is an independent island nation in the western Atlantic Ocean. Some of the popular tourists attractions are Christ Church, Andromeda Gardens, Flower Forest.
- Bermuda: Is renowned for its natural beauty and for its pink sand beaches. Bermuda is a paradise for for the Scuba divers. Bermuda offers a number of other attractions, as well. Historic St. Georges is a designated World Heritage Site. - The Bahamas: The Bahamas has a strong reflection of African and European influences. The Bahamas is an independent country and a member of the Commonwealth of Nations Bahamas.
- The British Virgin Islands: The British Virgin Islands or BVI is a British overseas territory, located in the Caribbean to the east of Puerto Rico. The islands make up part of the Virgin Islands archipelago, the remaining islands constituting the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- The Cayman Islands : Are a British overseas territory located in the western Caribbean Sea.
One of Grand Cayman's (GCM) main attractions is the world-famous Seven Mile Beach on which a number of the island's hotels and resorts are located.
- The United States Virgin Islands: This islands are geographically part of the Virgin Islands archipelago and are located in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles. Tourism is the primary economic activity of The United States Virgin Islands.
