Philippine is now gradually emerging as one of the most important destination in South East Asian continent. It is for around thirty three years, Philippines have come up with development of its popular tourist destination. Every year there is good flow of tourist traffic to visit the places of interest located throughout Philippines.

The broad objective of Department of Tourism in Philippines is to focus on giving a new shape and dimension to the places of interest in the country. There are various places of interest located in Philippines. These are stated as follows:
- Manila Ocean Park
- San Fabian PTA Beach Resort
- Club Intramuruse Golf Course
- Tagaytay Picnic Grove Complex
- Balicasag Island Drive Resort
- Gardens of Malasag
- Zamboanga Golf Course and Beach Park
There is a historical memorial located in Mc Arthur Park and Beach Resort, named “The Battle of Leyte Gulf.”
From the cultural aspect, there is a place called Clamshell, which is a center of organizing weddings and receptions of various types.
It was way back in the year; The Philippines Tourism Authority had its birth in the year 1973. As per the plans and programs of the department is concerned, it aimed at development and promotion of different tourism projects in Philippines.
For the year 2007, the Philippines Tourism Authority has come out with some areas of focusing. These are:
- Focus on development of new tourist destinations of Philippines
- To find out new infrastructure development
- PTA is encouraging new investment nation wide
- Disinvestment of operational asset
- Powerful promotional campaigning of the places of interest in Philippines
- Training and development of the departmental staff regarding the macro-aspect of the tourism industry
